Good morning! Today is St. Patrick's Day, a holiday I am reliably informed by Irish friends and coworkers is baffling/annoying because it is not a big deal at all in the country it ostensibly celebrates but is an excuse to get drunk almost everywhere else - including Japan.

I can't TW this hard enough, but this article in the Washington Post about

children who die when they're accidentally left in a hot car

fucked me up. It's horrifying but I mention it to people a lot - and I always look in cars when I walk by, just in case, and because I figure that a middle class signaling white woman peeking in car windows won't get profiled as someone who's casing the place, so it's safe for me to check.
