workweek reading recs (26 November 2024)

Sorry I missed yesterday… I went home sick from work.
COVID-19 is not over! (That is, thankfully, not what I have (I tested)… but it's a good reminder to wear a mask and keep up-to-date on your vaccines if you are medically safe to do so.)
Rather than listing the author(s) and magazines for nonfiction reporting, I'm switching to just the dates - probably more helpful for contextualizing? Especially since I'm sharing links from my backlog.

on rereading

I'm in the middle on rereading, I think. I've revisited classics that I was made to read for academic lessons to see what resonates from an adult lens (such as Austen and the Brontes' work). And a few books where after reading, I felt I didn't "get it," and was still interested to give another go . . . But overall, I'm with the author in that there are SO MANY other books I want to read and my life is finite.
